Rosie is our latest addition to our cat family. We adopted her from the Oregon Humane Society in Portland, Oregon.

We have adopted two bouncy kittens. Not wanting just one, Jeremy talked me into getting them both. I'm glad we did.

Noel and Linus made the "Meow Squad" at 21Cats.org in December of 2001.

Attila was 21Cats.org's "Cat of the Month" for April 2001!

Birthdate: About September 4, 1999
Adopted by us: September 1999
Died: June 4, 2002, age 2.5 years

She's is about 10 months in this picture.

On June 4, 2002, we had Attila put to sleep.  Only a week and a half after moving to our new home, she started having breathing problems on Sunday, June 2. On Monday, June 3 we took her to the vet. The physical exam revealed nothing abnormal but x-rays of her chest showed that they were filled with fluid - she had very, very little lung space left and the vet was surprised that she was not showing more symptoms of illness. Blood work showed that an immune disorder was not at fault. Fluid taken from her lungs revealed an infection and dividing cells, cancer.

Attila was very much our "kitty daughter" and having her gone leaves a vast empty place, not just in our hearts, but in our home as well. I am thankful for the opportunity we had to raise her, love her, and have her love us back. She could not be anything except what she was and we miss her for all the mischief, excitment, chatter and compainionship she brought to our lives. She kept her attitude until the end.

Attila was laid to rest under a white lilac tree in our new yard.

Our kitten

Birthdate: Sometime around September 29, 2000
Adopted by us: November 10, 2000
Died: May 10, 2001; age 7 months

Tinker was a very friendly and energetic kitten we brought home on November 10, 2000.

When we first got Tinker, Attila spent two days hiding in the bedroom amd would not come out. They soon because friends and playmates and spent many hours playing together.

In late March 2001, Tinker developed some unusual neurologial type problems, including imbalace, weakness in hindquarters, drooling, and something akin to seizures. In May 2001 she had several major episodes every day for several days in a row. She went downhill very quickly and we had to have her put to sleep early Thursday morning. We will miss her.
